Party chief To Lam arrives in Beijing for top-level talks with Chinese leaders
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary and President To Lam on August 18 afternoon left Guangzhoul for Beijing where he is scheduled to hold top-level talks and meetings with senior Chinese leaders in the coming two days.

At 6:40 p.m. (local time), the aircraft carrying To Lam and his spouse along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation landed at Beijing Capital International Airport.
To Lam and his entourage were welcomed at the airport by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo and other Chinese officials.
Officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing and representatives of Vietnamese expatriates in China were also on hand.
Upon arriving in Beijing, To Lam then travelled to the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy to talk to officials and Vietnamese representatives there.
During his stay from August 18-20, To Lam is scheduled to hold talks with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, and meet with other senior Chinese leaders, including Premier Li Qiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji, and Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning.
This is To Lam’s first visit to China after he was elected General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee in early August.
The top leader’s visit is showing Vietnam’s consistent policy of giving top priority to strengthening relations with China. It is of paramount importance to bilateral relations which have been developing positively in recent times.
Vietnam and China have agreed to further deepen and elevate the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and build a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance, during Xi’s state visit to Vietnam in December 2023.
