Mitsui pledges long-term investment and cooperation in Vietnam
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on November 27 received Hori Kenichi, President and CEO of Japan’s Mitsui Group, appreciating the company’s commitment to long-term investment and business cooperation in Vietnam.
During the meeting, Hori expressed his condolences to the Vietnamese government and people over recent natural disaster damages and praised Vietnam’s leadership in improving the investment and business environment. He emphasised that Mitsui is committed to long-term investment, particularly in the energy sector, and looks forward to contributing to Vietnam’s sustainable development.
He also commended the capacity of the PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) and confirmed that Mitsui would work closely with Vietnamese partners to accelerate the progress of the Block B gas project. In addition, the group plans to expand investment into renewable energy, carbon reduction projects, high-value agricultural and seafood exports, and to promote technology transfer and training in science and technology.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed Mitsui’s long-term commitment in Vietnam, highlighting the role of Japanese companies in promoting investment, business, technology transfer, job creation, and contributions to the national budget.
He urged Mitsui to further cooperate with Vietnamese enterprises, speed up the Block B gas project, and expand into energy fields including wind, solar, and oil and gas, as well as collaboration in fisheries, trade, and R&D.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the Vietnamese government is committed to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of investors, providing every favourable condition for Mitsui and other foreign companies to operate efficiently in Vietnam.
