Luxembourg PM Xavier Bettel visits World Heritage site Ha Long Bay
VOV.VN - Upon arriving in Vietnam, Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel on May 3 afternoon made a tour of Ha Long Bay, a world heritage site recognized by UNESCO, in Quang Ninh province.
Cao Tuong Huy, acting chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial administration, welcomed the guest and briefed him about world heritage site. He wished the Luxembourg PM a good trip around the bay which was recognized twice as the world natural heritage in 1994 and 2000 by UNESCO.
Bettel thanked Huy for warm welcome and expressed his joy when saw with his own eyes the beauty of Ha Long Bay as well as the friendliness and hospitality of local people.
After the Ha Long Bay tour, the Prime Minister of Luxembourg travelled to Hai Phong city where he called at a car factory owned by a Vietnamese enterprise.
He and his entourage were introduced about the company’s development strategy as well as its operations. He also test-drove an electric car there.
He then returned to Hanoi and walked took a stroll around the Old Quarter in the evening.
Bettel arrived in Hanoi on May 3, beginning a three-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh.
Chinh is scheduled to hold a welcoming ceremony and talks with Bettel in Hanoi on May 4.
