Lithuania President Gitanas Nauseda begins Vietnam visit
VOV.VN - President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda and First Lady Diana Nausediene arrived in Hanoi on June 11 evening, beginning a two-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President Luong Cuong.

The distinguished guests were welcomed at Noi Bai International Airport by Tran Sy Thanh, chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ngo Le Van, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland and concurrently accredited to Lithuania Ha Hoang Hai.
This is the first official visit to Vietnam by a Lithuanian head of state following the establishment of their diplomatic relations in 1992. Nauseda’s visit therefore represents a significant milestone, expected to open a new chapter in Vietnam - Lithuania relations.
During his stay in Vietnam, Nauseda will hold high-level talks and meetings with leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State. In addition, both sides will organise a joint business forum in Hanoi where they are to sign a number of important cooperation documents in potential fields such as trade and investment, education and training, high-tech agriculture, health care, clean energy, and digital transformation.
Two-way trade between Vietnam and Lithuania reached nearly US$207 million in 2024, and US$94.7 million in the first five months of 2025, up 94.4% year on year. Currently, Lithuania has three active direct investment projects in Vietnam with a total capital of around US$260,000, mainly in media, health care, and science and technology.
Meanwhile, approximately 100 Vietnamese nationals are living and working in Lithuania, mostly engaged in trade activities in shopping centres in the capital Vilnius.
