Libya wishes to strengthen all-round cooperation with Vietnam

VOV.VN - President of the Libyan Presidential Council Muhammad Al-Menfi expressed his country’s desire to increase multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam during his reception for Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt and Libya Nguyen Huy Dung in Tripoli on June 22.

Libya wishes to develop its special relations with Vietnam, including ramping up cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, energy and infrastructure construction, said Al-Menfi.

He said he had directed relevant ministries and agencies of Libya to support the ambassador during his working term, and hoped the ambassador would make a positive contribution to further developing the friendly relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Dung, who presented his credentials to the Libyan leader, vowed to work hard to foster bilateral relations, so as to meet the aspirations and interests of the two peoples.

He held that the two countries have a lot of potential and opportunities for cooperation in various fields, especially in economy, trade, investment, energy, culture, and people-to-people exchange.

To bring into full the potential for cooperation, he also suggested that the business communities of the two countries strengthen connections and share business cooperation opportunities in each country.

Vietnam and Libya established diplomatic relations on March 15, 1975. The two countries support each other at regional and international forums, especially within the framework of the United Nations (UN).

The two countries have great potential for cooperation in various fields, especially economy, trade and investment. However, bilateral trade exchange remains modest.
