Leaders of Laos and Cambodia to attend Vietnam’s 50-year victory celebration
VOV.VN - Senior leaders from Laos and Cambodia will attend Vietnam’s grand celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification on April 30, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Lao delegation will be led by Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of Laos, while the Cambodian delegation will be headed by Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and President of the Senate, following invitations from Vietnam’s Party and State leaders.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated at a regular press briefing on April 24 that many senior delegations, political parties, representatives from international organisations, peace movements, anti-war movements, and international friends have confirmed their engagement in the celebration.
She emphasised that the April 30 celebration honours the eternal values of forgiveness, peace, reconciliation, healing, and the spirit of breaking with the past and looking to the future.
As part of the preparations, military forces from Vietnam, Laos, China, and Cambodia conducted a joint rehearsal in front of Independence Palace on April 25 evening, highlighting the strong solidarity and traditional friendship among the neighbouring countries.
The national-level celebration will take place in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30, featuring a military parade, a civilian march, an artistic fireworks display, and many other activities.
