Lao PM hails Vientiane-Hanoi cooperation

VOV.VN - Lao Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh lauded the effective cooperation between Vientiane capital of Laos and Hanoi capital of Vietnam while receiving visiting Hanoi Mayor Tran Sy Thanh in Vientiane on November 4.

Viphavanh reviewed major developments in the relations between Laos and Vietnam, especially between Vientiane and Hanoi, and expressed hope that the two capitals will continue to give each other support and further strengthen cooperation to bring practical benefits for the two sides.

The Lao Party and State always support the cooperation and development between the two capitals, contributing to consolidating and deepening the solidarity and close bond between the two countries, said Viphavanh

He also affirmed Laos will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder and to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in all fields, so that the two countries can work together to build and develop their special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.

For his part, Hanoi mayor Tran Sy Thanh briefed his host on the fruitful cooperation between Hanoi and Vientiane, and assured that Hanoi will continue to give full cooperation and support to Vientiane.

He also spoke highly of the great, comprehensive achievements of historical significance that Laos, and Vientiane capital in particular, have recorded after more than 35 years of implementing the renovation process and more than a year of implementing the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.

Earlier the same day, the Hanoi delegation led by mayor Tran Sy Thanh had a working session with Athsaphangthong Siphandone, governor of Vientiane. They emphasized the importance of the effective implementation of a cooperation document for 2022-2025 between Hanoi and Vientiane, laying a firm foundation for specific bilateral cooperation activities in the new period.
