Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev begins Vietnam visit
VOV.VN - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Hanoi on August 20, beginning an official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Vo Van Thuong.
He was welcomed at Noi Bai International Airport by officials of the President Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the Vietnamese Ambassador to Kazakhstan, and the Kazakh Ambassador to Vietnam.
The Kazakh president was accompanied by a number of ministers in charge of foreign affairs, industry and infrastructure, and culture and sport, as well as leaders of leading economic groups.
This is President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s first visit to Vietnam and the first by a Kazakh president in the past 12 years.
The visit took place at a time when the relations between Vietnam and Kazakhstan are developing well after 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations.
The two countries have many opportunities to take their traditional friendship and cooperation to new heights.
