Honduras wants to foster ties with Vietnam

VOV.VN - Honduras President Juan Orlando Hernández Alvarado has vowed to promote comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, at a recent virtual meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico and Honduras Nguyen Hoai Duong.

The Honduras leader said Vietnam is a wonderful country that has set an example for other developing countries to follow suit.

Presenting his credentials to the Honduras President, Ambassador Duong conveyed Vietnamese Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong’s greetings to President Juan Orlando Hernandez Alvarado. The diplomat reiterated the Vietnamese top leader’s invitation to the Honduras President to pay an official visit to Vietnam at a suitable time.

The ambassador pledged to try his best to increase cooperation between the two countries in all fields, particularly in trade and investment.

Vietnam and Honduras established diplomatic ties on May 17, 2005. Despite limited delegation exchanges, the two countries have maintained close cooperation at international forums and organisations to which both are members.
