Hanoi promotes cooperation with Chinese localities

VOV.VN - Hanoi wishes to increase cooperation with Chinese localities, including Beijing and Guangzhou, Dinh Tien Dung, secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee told Chinese ambassador Xiong Bo in the Vietnamese capital on April 11.

Dung recalled the China visit by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong late last year, stressing it is high time for localities of the two countries to heighten their cooperation.

He proposed that the two sides work closely to run training courses for Hanoi’s urban planning engineers, especially in the fields of smart city development and cyber security, and implement another urban metro rail route in the city linking Ha Dong district with Xuan Mai township on the back of the existing Cat Linh – Ha Dong route.

Hanoi also wishes to learn from Chinese experience in preserving historical and cultural vestiges, especially age-old sites, Dung said.

The Hanoi official expressed hope that Ambassador Xiong Ba would continue to help ramp up cooperation between Hanoi and Chinese localities, including Beijing and Guangzhou.

Xiong for his part welcomed Dung’s proposals and said he would transfer the proposals to the leaders of Beijing and relevant Chinese agencies.

China always attaches importance to its friendly and cooperative relations with Vietnam and it is willing to share development experiences with Vietnam as well as Hanoi, said the Ambassador.

He expressed his hope that Hanoi and Beijing would always take the lead in cooperation and set an exemplary role model in the relationship between the two countries.
