French Communist Party leader hails Vietnam’s development achievements

VOV.VN - Fabien Roussel, National Secretary of the French Communist Party, received Vietnamese ambassador to France Pham Dinh Toan in Paris on July 12.

Roussel expressed his delight at the recent positive development of the relations between the two countries as well as between the French Communist Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam.

He noted that leaders of the two countries have maintained practical exchanges despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, creating momentum for bilateral relations. Leaders of the two parties also exchanged and visited each other, showing great solidarity and special bond.

Roussel said he is impressed with Vietnam’s COVID-19 prevention and control and socio-economic development in recent times.

He affirmed that members of the French Communist Party and elected MPs of the party always strive to strengthen the relations and multifaceted cooperation between the two parties, two parliaments and localities of the two countries.

For his part, ambassador Thang briefed his host on the results of the recent 13th national congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and socio-economic development and foreign policy orientations in the coming years.  

He affirmed that Vietnam priotirises strengthening the bilateral relations with France, including the French Communist Party.

The Ambassador thanked for French Communists for their heartfelt support and assistance to Vietnam in the past and at present, while expressing his belief that the French Communist Party will continue to promote its tradition and revolutionary bravery to reap greater successes in the time ahead.

Both sides agreed to increase contacts and visit exchanges to further promote the Vietnam-France strategic partnership for peace, development and social progress in the two countries.
