Foreign Minister hosts Iranian Ambassador Ali Akbar Nazari

VOV.VN - Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son on March 8 received Iranian Ambassador to Vietnam Ali Akbar Nazari at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hanoi.

Minister Son congratulated the Ambassador on undertaking a new mission in Vietnam, and expressed wish that during the new term the Iranian Ambassador will make efforts to promote the relations between the two countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will create favourable conditions and be ready to coordinate with the Ambassador to complete the task, Son told his guest.

Noting that Vietnam and Iran still have potential for closer cooperation in many fields, Minister Son suggested the two sides soon promote the exchange of visits at all levels, and continue to cooperate closely in bilateral and multilateral frameworks in order to deepen bilateral ties.

For his part, Ambassador Nazari congratulated Vietnam on successfully assuming the role of a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 term. He highly appreciated the country’s active role in multilateral organizations and emphasized Iran’s desire to promote cooperation with Vietnam in various fields.

Both host and guest agreed that the two countries will continue effectively implementing existing cooperation mechanisms and making good preparations for the 10th session of the Vietnam - Iran Joint Committee, the seventh session of the upcoming political consultation between the two foreign ministries, while promoting economic, cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
