Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son to visit China in early April

VOV.VN - Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son will pay an official visit to China on April 3-4 at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam said in its announcement.

The visit takes place at a time when the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China is developing positively and reaping important gains, according to the announcement.

Top leaders of the two countries maintain regular exchanges and contacts to strengthen political trust. Among the high-profile visits include the visit of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to China in October 2022 and the state visit to Vietnam of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping in December 2023.

The two countries have released a joint leaders’ statement on continuing to deepen and elevate the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to build a Vietnam-China community with a shared future.

Son’s visit aims to continue to concretize high-level common perceptions in maintaining the positive development momentum of Vietnam - China relations. It gives both sides the chance to review and identify key areas in bilateral relations in 2024 and the following years, helping to deepen and elevate the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to new heights.

During the visit, Son is scheduled to hold talks with Wang, and meet other Chinese leaders, along with other sidelines activities.
