China and Vietnam enhance Party co-operation

VOV.VN - Le Hoai Trung, secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and Chairman of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, on March 22 met with,Cai Qi, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, member of the CPC Central Committee’s Secretariat and Chief of the CPC Central Committee’s Office; and Wang Yi, politburo member and director of the Communist Party of China Central Committee’s Foreign Affairs Commission Office and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

At the meeting, Trung informed participants about his visit to China and the annual meeting held between the two heads of the Central Foreign Affairs Commissions of the two Parties this time to realise important common awareness between senior leaders. This is along with exchanging views on advising the Central Party Committees on strengthening exchanges and ties on Party channels, as well as co-ordinating to promote linkages between the two countries across a variety of fields.

Trung briefed the Chinese officials on the results of the three years of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and major directions moving forward.

He hailed the various achievements of the Chinese people under the leadership of the Party Central Committee, with comrade Xi Jinping as the "nucleus" having carried out the Resolution adopted at the 20th Party Congress.

The Party, State, and people of Vietnam therefore greatly value the positive developments made in relations between the two Parties and two countries across multiple fields since Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to China and Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping visit to Vietnam.

Regarding orientations for developing relations between the two Parties and two countries moving forward, Trung proposed that both parties make greater efforts to well realise high-level common awareness, consolidate political trust, achieve a peaceful and stable environment, and raise co-operation effectiveness in a multitude of areas.

The two sides need to continue to intensify exchanges and contacts at high levels, especially with top leaders; increase exchanges between party committees; bolster co-operation in the fields of economics, trade, and traffic connection; as well as working together to consolidate a good social foundation for bilateral relations.

Chinese leaders expressed their joy at the important, substantive, and comprehensive developments in the relationship between the two Parties and two countries in all fields, especially following the historic visits of the two Party leaders in 2022 and 2023 and the two sides' agreement to build a Vietnam-China community of shared community that holds strategic significance. 

They outlined their belief that Vietnam will successfully fulfill the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress. The Chinese Party, State, and people consider developing relations with the nation to be a priority in China's neighbouring diplomacy policy, they added.

Cai Qi expressed his confidence that under the direction of the two Party General Secretaries, the two sides will overcome all challenges, spur on the development of each country, and contribute to the global socialist movement. This is as well as achieving peace, stability, co-operation, and development in the region and the world at large.

He affirmed that China supports Vietnam as it strives to promote a greater role in the region and the international arena, thereby enhancing the voice of developing countries in dealing with international issues.

Wang Yi suggested that both sides continue to co-ordinate to strongly push exchange and ties at all levels in a more effective, balanced, and sustainable manner, thereby better meeting the interests of the people of the two countries. This is in addition to making efforts to maintain peace, stability, control, and handle disagreements at sea according to high-level common perception.
