FM spokesperson on Vietnamese national killed in Singapore

VOV.VN - A Vietnamese citizen has been assaulted and later died in Singapore after being rushed to hospital for emergency treatment, according to Pham Thu Hang, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.

Hang, at a regular press briefing on December 19, quoted the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore, saying Singapore’s authorities have arrested the attacker and are conducting the trial in accordance with the country’s regulations.

Upon receiving the information, she said the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore promptly contacted local authorities, requesting an investigation and clarification of the incident.

The embassy also contacted and assisted the victim’s family in traveling to Singapore to complete necessary procedures and repatriate the victim’s remains, added the spokesperson.
