Fatherland Front leader visits Tokyo University of Science

VOV.VN - President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien on July 29 paid a visit to Tokyo University of Science and held a meeting with Vietnamese students currently studying there.

Tokyo University of Science is a prestigious institution that attracts a large number of both domestic and international students and researchers, including many from Vietnam.

During the meeting, the university’s leadership presented an overview of their academic model and notable achievements in scientific research and teaching. Both sides also discussed mechanisms for admitting students and researchers, as well as opportunities available for Vietnamese students.

Chien, who is also Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee, praised the university for its attention and support toward the 39 Vietnamese students currently enrolled there. He expressed hope that the institution would continue to welcome more Vietnamese students and expand its scholarship programmes for both students and researchers from Vietnam.

Acknowledging the university’s academic accomplishments and learning environment, Do Van Chien emphasised that Vietnamese students possess the capability and determination to succeed in such a rigorous academic setting, meeting the requirements in both academic performance and language skills, as well as managing associated costs. He noted that Tokyo University of Science has already established partnerships with reputable Vietnamese institutions, including Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Vietnam and Japan have upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the world. This presents an excellent opportunity for deeper cooperation between our educational institutions, said Chien.

Following the meeting, the Fatherland Front leader met with the Vietnamese students studying at the university. He reminded that Vietnam is entering a new era that places great importance on science and technology as a key to national development.

“The future lies in your hands.” he told the students.

The Fatherland Front leader is scheduled to meet with Yoshimasa Hayashi, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, later the same day, to discuss bilateral issues between the two countries.
