Fatherland Front leader visits Japan
VOV.VN - President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien arrived in Tokyo on July 27, beginning a friendship visit to Japan.

Upon arrival, Chien and other officials of the delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, where they held a working session with embassy officials and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the country.
At the meeting, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu briefed the delegation on the situation in the host country and developments within the Vietnamese community, emphasising its dynamic growth and the central role of Vietnam’s diplomatic missions.
Alongside diplomatic activities, he said, the embassy has diversified its methods of community engagement to promote unity among Vietnamese expatriates in Japan, helping them to stabilize their lives and contribute to the long-standing friendship between the two countries.
Nguyen Hong Son, president of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Japan, representing a community of over 600,000 Vietnamese, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Party, State, the Embassy, and Vietnamese consulates for their continued support to the community over the years.
Vietnamese associations, communities, and individuals here always look toward the homeland, work diligently, comply with local laws, and wish to contribute even more to the fatherland’s development, especially in the new phase of advancement, he said.
The delegation was also informed about the spiritual and charitable activities undertaken by Vietnamese Buddhists in Japan, which have become a meaningful source of emotional support for the overseas community.
In his concluding remarks, Chien commended the achievements and spirit of the Vietnamese community in Japan, while reaffirming Vietnam’s consistent policy towards overseas Vietnamese.
“The Party, State, and people of Vietnam regard overseas Vietnamese as an inseparable part of the nation. Over the years, we’ve introduced numerous policies and initiatives to awaken national pride, promote unity, and help our expatriates build better lives while staying connected to their roots. This includes Politburo Resolution 36, Directive 45, and most recently, Conclusion 12 which have all been institutionalised through laws and regulations,” he noted.
The VFF leader is scheduled to have an intensive day of meetings with leaders of Japanese political parties and politicians on July 27 to discuss bilateral relations and explore ways to enhance cooperation in the time ahead.
After Japan, the VFF delegation will pay a working visit to the Republic of Korea.
