Ericsson pledges support for Vietnam’s digital infrastructure development
VOV.VN - Ericsson is ready to support Vietnam in developing telecommunications infrastructure and adopting new technologies, said Borje Ekholm, CEO of Sweden’s Ericsson Group during his meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Stockholm on June 13.

Ekholm congratulated Vietnam of its recent successful deployment of the 5G network, noting that building a secure and reliable network infrastructure is a vital foundation for Vietnam to achieve its digital government, digital economy, and digital society goal.
He praised Vietnam’s digitalisation commitment which he hoped would be conveyed to European leaders, while expressing the group’s support for Vietnamese businesses in providing fast, affordable, and convenient services.
Chinh, who is making an official visit to Sweden, thanked Ericsson for its support over the years and noted that Vietnam is entering a new phase of reform, marked by institutional breakthroughs and an enabling environment for private sector development.
He said Vietnam has now unlocked mechanisms and created more favourable conditions for foreign investment, including from Ericsson.
The PM encouraged Ericsson to accelerate cooperation with Vietnamese telecom firms like Viettel and MobiFone in a spirit of “healthy competition” to drive technological breakthroughs. He proposed that Ericsson pilot innovation programmes in Vietnam and help the country transition toward 6G and 7G networks.
The PM also proposed that Ericsson transfer technology to Vietnam and welcomed the group to set up R&D activities in the country. He expressed confidence that Ericsson would remain a long-term partner of Vietnam.
On this occasion, the PM invited Ekholm to visit Vietnam to explore infrastructure cooperation opportunities.
