El Popular praises Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements

VOV.VN - El Popular, the official mouthpiece of the Communist Party of Uruguay, published an article on December 19 lauding Vietnam’s socio-economic accomplishments in 2024.

El Popular quoted Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the recently held conference of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, highlighting that Vietnam is on track to achieve and exceed all 15 major targets set for the year, with an economic growth rate exceeding 7%.

The article emphasized that these economic indicators contribute to expanding the country’s economic scale and raising per capita income. It also noted Vietnam's stable socio-political environment, strengthened defense and security capabilities, and improvements in people’s material and spiritual lives.

The paper shed light on Vietnam’s thriving tourism industry, reporting that in 2024, the country welcomed 110 million domestic visitors and 17.5 million international tourists, marking a 38.9% increase compared to 2023.

El Popular pointed out that 2025 holds special significance for Vietnam as it marks the culmination of the 2021-2025 socio-economic development plan and major anniversaries, including the 95th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and national reunification, the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The article further highlighted the importance of 2025 as Vietnam undertakes the restructuring the state apparatus and prepares for the Party Congresses at all levels in the lead up to the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, helping to herald a new era of strength, prosperity, and growth for the nation.
