Deputy PM hails Perenco’s investment expansion plan in Vietnam
VOV.VN - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son appreciated Perenco’s investment expansion proposals in Vietnam during his meeting with Perenco CEO Armel Simondin in Paris on June 10.

Perenco, a Franco-British joint venture, operates in oil and gas exploration and production across several countries, including Vietnam.
Son acknowledged Perenco’s contributions to oil and gas exploration in Vietnam and reaffirmed that the government of Vietnam encourages partners, including Perenco, to continue the sustainable exploitation of natural resources in Vietnam, in strict compliance with local laws and international commitments.
He noted Perenco’s strong global experience in oil and gas and urged the company to continue close collaboration with Vietnamese enterprises, adhere to commitments, and avoid any delays to existing or future projects by ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
For his part, Simondin congratulated the Vietnamese Prime Minister on the success of his France visit, which he said has achieved important outcomes and helped deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and France. He emphasised that energy and oil cooperation is emerging as a key pillar in the two countries’ relationship.
Simondin also expressed gratitude for Vietnam’s support for foreign investors, including Perenco, in maintaining long-term operations in the country.
