Communist parties of Vietnam and France vow to cement relations

VOV.VN - General Secretary and President To Lam of Vietnam met with National Secretary of the French Communist Party Fabien Roussel in Paris on October 7 as part of his ongoing visit to France at the invitation of French Emmanuel Macron.

To Lam informed Roussel about Vietnam’s Doi Moi (Renewal) achievements and its foreign policy, as well as the results of his attendance at the 19th Francophonie Summit and his official visit to France, including the two countries’ efforts to elevate bilateral relations to new heights.

He appreciated the French Communist Party’s gains in recent times, and expressed his hope that the Party would continue to leverage its experience and revolutionary tradition to further enhance its position and role in France and Europe in the future.

To Lam proposed that the Communist Party of Vietnam and the French Communist Party further promote cooperation, increase delegation exchanges, maintain collaboration between their dailies People of Vietnam and L’Humanite of France, while organizing the fourth theoretical seminar between the two parties, and prepare for the upcoming visit of the National Secretary to Vietnam.

Roussel for his part affirmed that To Lam’s visit holds significant importance in strengthening the solidarity and friendship between the two parties, creating a new milestone and development step for the strategic partnership between Vietnam and France.

He also praised the achievements Vietnam has made over nearly 40 years of implementing the Renewal process, affirming the role and sound leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The French Communist Party always prioritizes the development of solidarity and friendship with the Communist Party of Vietnam and will strive to further deepen the relations between the two parties and two countries, he said.
