Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to visit Vietnam
VOV.VN - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore and the Republic of Korea from September 10 -15 at the invitations of his counterparts of these countries, the Vietnam News Agency reported on September 8.
During his Asian tour, he is scheduled to stop over in Vietnam on September 10-12, the State-owned media agency said, citing sources from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
While in Vietnam, Wang will co-chair the 13th meeting of the China-Vietnam Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation along with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh.
According to Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore and the Republic of Korea are close neighbours and important partners of China. They are all with China on the front line in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as on post-pandemic recovery.
The spokesperson said Wang’s upcoming trip shows Beijing attaches great importance to promoting friendship and cooperation with these countries.
Diplomats will discuss ways to safeguard multilateralism and uphold global fairness, as well as peace and stability in the region.
