China wishes Vietnam greater success in national development

VOV.VN - China believes Vietnam, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong, will successfully implement the recent 13th National Party Congress’s resolution and obtain greater achievements.

China Communist Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping made the statement during phone talks with Vietnamese General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong on February 8.

Xi congratulated the Communist Party of Vietnam on the success of its freshly-concluded 13th National Congress, and Trong on his re-election as Party General Secretary in the new term.

The Party, Government and people of China attach great importance to the traditional friendly and neighborly relationship with Vietnam, and are willing to work closely with their Vietnamese partners to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation between the two countries, bringing practical benefits to the two peoples and contributing to peace and stability in the region and the rest of the world, the top Chinese leader affirmed.

On the occasion of the coming lunar New Year holiday, Xi extended best wishes to Vietnamese leaders and people.

For his part, Trong thanked his Chinese counterpart and said the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam was a great success, outlining development goals and directions for Vietnam in the coming years.

He noted with satisfaction the fine development of bilateral ties, noting both Vietnam and China have conducted regular exchanges over the years to promote their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation in a substantial and stable manner.

The Vietnamese leader proposed the two sides continue to strengthen cooperation, overcome challenges, and promote their traditional friendship in order to record even greater achievements in the new period, in the interest of the two peoples, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world at large.

He also extended lunar New Year greetings to Chinese leaders and people on this occasion.
