Children’s National Assembly mock session opens in Hanoi

In his opening speech, Le Gia Vinh, chairman of the Children’s National Assembly, shared that the second mock session takes place in the vibrant atmosphere of the new school year, as children across the country eagerly welcome the 2024-2025 academic year.

This session holds special significance, clearly reflecting the responsibility of all social strata in protecting, caring for, and educating the younger generation, who are the future masters of the state.

The one-and-a-half day session is to debate the government’s report on evaluating and supplementing the results of the programs “Preventing and Combating School Violence” and “Preventing the Harmful Effects of Tobacco and Stimulants, especially in School,” and setting forth directions for future implementation.

Besides the plenary session and in-group discussions, child delegates will hold a questioning session focusing on “Preventing and Combating School Violence” and “Preventing the Harmful Effects of Tobacco and Stimulants, especially in School.” The session will see the participation of leaders from the Party, State, National Assembly, and Government, as well as heads of relevant ministries and agencies.

Furthermore, they will discuss a draft resolution related to the questioning activities at the second session in 2024.

Vietnam held the first Children's National Assembly mock session in 2023 as a forum for children to express their voices, thoughts, and aspirations. The meeting aims to foster dreams and ambitions for the youth, who are the future of the country. This initiative shows the commitment of the Party, State, National Assembly, and society as a whole, to the protection, care, and education of children.

Moreover, the model creates opportunities for children to develop their skills in expressing opinions and to engage in the decision-making process regarding matters of their concern.
