Bulgarian parliamentary speaker concludes Vietnam visit
VOV.VN - Speaker of the Bulgarian National Assembly Rossen Zhelyazkov left Hanoi on January 9 afternoon, concluding their five-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
During his stay, Speaker Rossen Zhelyazkov held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Vuong Dinh Hue, and met with President Vo Van Thuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. He also toured major economic and cultural establishment in Ninh Binh and Quang Ninh provinces.
The Bulgarian leader also met with representatives of Vietnamese people who had studied and worked in Bulgaria; visited and delivered a speech at Hanoi National University; and visited Vietnam-Bulgaria High Quality Kindergarten in Hanoi.
Zhelyazkov’s visit was expected to further strengthen and cultivate the good political relationship between the two countries. It also offered the two sides the chance to discuss international and regional issues of mutual concern, and strengthen bilateral cooperation in a practical and effective manner, especially in a number of areas where both countries have strengths.
Vietnam always values its relationship with Bulgaria, while Bulgaria considers Vietnam one of its important partners in ASEAN. The two sides hoped to strengthen multi-faceted cooperation, especially in high-tech agriculture, pharmaceuticals, information technology, tourism, culture, high-tech industry, and aviation, to maximize their great potential.
The two sides also agreed to raise their two-way trade turnover from the current US$200 million to US$500 million/year soon.
