Australian Governor-General arrives in Hanoi for Vietnam visit
VOV.VN - Governor-General of Australia Gen. David Hurley and his spouse arrived in Hanoi on April 3, beginning a four-day State-level visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnamese State President Vo Van Thuong.

They were welcomed at Noi Bai International Airport by Chairman of the President’s Office Le Khanh Hai, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu, Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Nguyen Tat Thanh, Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski, and representatives of a number of relevant agencies.
This is the first State-level visit by a foreign head of State to Vietnam in 2023 and the first State-level visit made at the invitation of President Vo Van Thuong in his new position.
During the April 3-6 trip, Governor-General Hurley will hold talks with President Thuong, and meet with other senior Vietnamese leaders, including Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
He is scheduled to attend a variety of events to mark 50 years of bilateral diplomacy between Vietnam and Australia.
