Argentina-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group inaugurated
VOV.VN - The Argentina-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group made its debut at the Argentine Chamber of Deputies on February 7 in an effort to further promote the traditional relationship between the two countries.
Addressing the ceremony, Maria Rosa Martinez, head of the Argentina-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group, expressed her admiration for the Vietnamese people’s resilience in the past and at present, as well as their country’s dynamic development in recent times.
The Argentina-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group will work toward strengthening political, economic and trade relations, as well as cooperation and solidarity between the two legislative bodies of Vietnam and Argentina in particular and the two peoples in general, affirmed Martinez.
For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Duong Quoc Thanh said that the re-establishment of the Argentina-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group demonstrates the Argentine parliaments interest in promoting cooperation between the two countries, an important contribution to 50 years of bilateral diplomacy.
The Embassy of Vietnam will work closely with the Argentina-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group, as well as the Argentine parliament, to carry out activities aimed at taking bilateral relations to new heights, said the ambassador.
At their first meeting, nine members of the group introduced a plan of action with practical ideas and directions to bring the two countries closer together.
The Argentinean MPs also expressed their wish to exchange experiences with Vietnam in socio-economic development, poverty reduction, and sustainable economic growth, among others.
