Deputy PM desires technology transfer from China for win-win co-operation

VOV.VN - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha welcomes Chinese businesses, including the Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) for their engagement in renewable energy projects and hopes that these projects will become models of effective co-operation.

Deputy PM Ha received Wang Bin, general manager of the Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina), in Hanoi on February 27.

The Deputy PM praised the Chinese firm’s fruitful operations along with its application of many advanced technologies around the world, especially in the fields of energy and infrastructure development.

With the joint comprehensive strategic co-operative partnership and directions from high-ranking leaders, the two sides hold favourable conditions in which to further develop cross-border transport infrastructure projects as a means of serving economic, investment, and trade activities, he said.

Both sides signed two memoranda of understanding on enhancing co-operation in cross-border railway development, Deputy PM Ha noted, adding that the facilities connecting transport infrastructure will go on to become a symbol of bilateral ties.

Aside from investment and business activities, Chinese enterprises should also increase sharing experience with and transferring technology to Vietnamese partners to boost win-win co-operation, he suggested.

Highlighting the “big room” reserved for renewable energy development under Vietnam’s national power development plan for 2021 to 2030, with a vision towards 2050, the host official welcomed Chinese enterprises, including PowerChina, taking part in renewable energy projects. He also expressed his hope that those projects will become models of fruitful and quality co-operation.

The Deputy PM went on to say that he will assign ministries, sectors, and localities to continue assisting PowerChina to seek investment in suitable renewable energy and transport infrastructure projects.

For his part, Wang informed his host of activities carried out by PowerChina in Vietnam, noting the firm has close ties with Vietnamese enterprises in project implementation and manpower training.

He also talked about some of his corporation’s renewable energy projects in China, saying the firm has extensive experience, capacity, and resources for implementing such transport infrastructure projects as expressways and high-speed railway.

Noting the recommendations made by the leaders of PowerChina Group, Deputy PM Ha assigned ministries, sectors, and localities to continue working and helping PowerChina seek investment opportunities in renewable energy and transportation infrastructure projects as a contribution to strengthening the strategic and comprehensive co-operative partnership with new projects in the digital and green transformation period.
