Deputy FM visits Paraguay for political consultation
VOV.VN - Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Dinh Quy paid an official visit to Paraguay from November 27 – December 1 and attended the second political consultation session at deputy foreign ministerial level between Vietnam and Paraguay.
The two sides discussed a score of measures to reinforce bilateral ties and underlined the importance of the political consultation mechanism between the two foreign ministries in further strengthening Vietnam-Paraguay friendship and multifaceted cooperation.
They concurred to facilitate the exchange of all-level visits, notably the coming Vietnam visits by Paraguayan Foreign Minister Callabero and Mayor Ferreiro next year.
The Paraguayan side suggested closer cooperation in a variety of fields like economy, trade, investment, aquaculture, and culture and hoped the two countries will continue to carry out signed agreements while conducting negotiations towards signing new agreements, creating a legal corridor for long-term cooperation.
They affirmed that the recognition of Vietnam as a market economy contributes to further elevating two-way trade to a higher level.
The Vietnamese side vowed all possible support for businesses to set up partnership in telecommunications, waterway transport and agriculture.
Both sides applauded their close coordination and mutual assistance at international organisations and multilateral forums over the past time and compared notes on regional and global issues of mutual concern.
The host side expressed support of Vietnam and ASEAN’s stance on the peaceful settlement of disputes at sea in line with international law and the United Nations Charter.
