Denmark keen to augment green growth cooperation with Vietnam
VOV.VN - Danish Crown Prince Frederik has affirmed his nation’s desire to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation with Vietnam, especially in the field of green growth and renewable energy transformation.
Talks were held between Danish Crown Prince Frederik and Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan on November 1 in Hanoi following a welcome ceremony for Danish Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary Elizabeth who are on an official working visit to Vietnam from October 31 to November 3.
During the meeting, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan highlighted the visit by Danish Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary Elizabeth as an event of special significance, marking half a century of outstanding development of the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations, thus opening up new cooperation prospects in the time ahead.
The Vice President expressed her appreciation for the profound sentiment the Danish Royal Family, Government and people give to the country and people of Vietnam, especially in the socio-economic development over the years.
Informing Crown Prince Frederik about the tremendous socio-economic development achievements as well as Vietnam's priority development goals in the coming time, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan expressed her belief that Vietnam will continue to receive cooperation and companionship of Denmark in this process.
Crown Prince Frederik showed his pleasure to return to visit Vietnam and witness impressive socio-economic changes, while affirming his desire to boost friendly relations and cooperation with Vietnam, especially in the field of green growth and renewable energy conversion.
The Crown Prince told his host that accompanied by a delegation of 36 major Danish energy firms, this shows the trend of strengthening cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of renewable energy and efficient use of energy in the future.
Frederik affirmed that, with the aim of establishing the Vietnam – Denmark Green Strategic Partnership, the two countries' cooperation in the field of the environment and climate change adaptation has entered a more practical and effective phase of cooperation, whereby Denmark is ready to accompany and support Vietnam in its efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.
The host was pleased to see that the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries are developing extensively and actively in a variety of fields, especially in investment, energy cooperation, and energy cooperation, the environment and climate change adaptation, education - training, and culture, especially since both nations established a strategic partnership in the fields of climate change, the environment, energy and green growth in 2011, the comprehensive partnership in 2013.
The enforcement of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) has contributed to impressive growth in trade and investment cooperation. Currently, Denmark is ranked 22 out of 141 countries and territories investing in Vietnam, Xuan went on to say.
She wished that with the attention and support of the Danish Royal Family and the Crown Prince personally, the Vietnam - Denmark Comprehensive Partnership would continue to be consolidated and developed in all aspects through regular exchange of delegations at all levels and close cooperation at multilateral mechanisms, especially in 2023, which will mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam- Demark comprehensive partnership.
Vice President Xuan said she hopes that more and more Danish businesses will invest and do business effectively in Vietnam in areas of Denmark’s strength and Vietnam’s demand.
She also underlined the need for both sides to continue to expand exchange and cooperation activities in education - training, culture, labor and people-to-people exchanges, thereby contributing to strengthening the friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples, and creating impetus to promote relations between the two countries in the coming time.
Xuan thanked Denmark for supporting and creating conditions for the Vietnamese community to enjoy a stable and integrated life with the host country, thus becoming an important bridge contributing to the consolidation and strengthening of bilateral ties.
