Defence cooperation helps reinforce Vietnam-Thailand relations

On April 4, General Surapong Suwana-Adth met with General Ngo Xuan Lich in Hanoi, during which he confirmed Thailand wants to enhance pragmatic collaboration with Vietnam for peace, stability and development.

Minister Ngo Xuan Lich suggested the two sides coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums to bring the bilateral defence partnership to a new height.

Earlier, Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, held a ceremony to welcome the guest.

They later discussed measures to boost bilateral cooperation, agreeing to implement collaboration contents, focusing on delegation and young official exchanges and coordination in UN peacekeeping activities and humanitarian mine action.
