CPV delegation represented at French Communist Party’s 39th Congress

VOV.VN - A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by Le Hoai Trung, member of the CPV Central Committee and chairman of its Commission for External Relations, attended the French Communist Party (PCF)’s 39th Congress in Marseille whilst on a working visit to the European country from April 7 to April 11.

During his stay, Trung held talks with Fabien Roussel, national secretary of the PCF, to exchange information regarding the current situation of each country and Party, as well as discussing measures to boost bilateral ties and comparing notes on several international issues of shared concern.

Trung presented a congratulatory message from the CPV Central Committee to the 39th PCF Congress, expressing his belief that it will outline the right directions and policies to promote positive results and surmount the current difficulties. In addition, it will serve to enhance the PCF's influence in the political arena of France and Europe, thereby contributing to peace, national independence, democracy, and social progress for socialist ideals in France, Europe, and around the world.

He affirmed Vietnam’s unwavering foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, co-operation, and development, along with multilateralisation and diversification of external relations, and active international integration; as well as its policy of maintaining and consolidating ties with communist parties, including the PCF.

In return, Roussel thanked the CPV for sending the delegation to attend the congress, considering it a manifestation of solidarity, attachment, friendship, and faithfulness in the relations between the two Parties.

He greatly appreciated and congratulated the Vietnamese side on its tremendous achievements over recent time under the leadership of the CPV.

Trung also paid a floral tribute at the plaque commemorating President Ho Chi Minh at the headquarters of the La Marseillaise newspaper and worked with the newspaper’s leaders.

He also took part in working sessions with the first secretary of the French Socialist Party and leaders of the ruling Renaissance Party.
