Chief Justice of Supreme People’s Court Nguyen Van Quang takes oath of office
VOV.VN - At the 10th session on the morning of November 10, Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court Nguyen Van Quang was sworn in according to regulations after being elected by the 15th National Assembly.
The resolution electing Nguyen Van Quang as Chief Justice was approved by the National Assembly with 440 of 441 participating deputies voting in favor, representing 92.83% of the total deputies.
In his inaugural remarks, Chief Justice Nguyen Van Quang expressed his profound respect and thanks to the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, General Secretary To Lam, and Party and State leaders for entrusting him with this important responsibility and to the National Assembly for electing him to the position.
"This is a great honor and a weighty responsibility before the Party, the National Assembly, and the people," Nguyen Van Quang said, adding his thanks to colleagues, individuals, agencies, units, and localities where he previously worked, for their support and guidance through which he was trained and grew, enabling him to assume this responsibility.
Nguyen Van Quang holds a Doctorate in Law and has extensive experience in the People’s Procuracy, having served in the following positions: Chief Procurator of the Hai Phong City People’s Procuracy; Procurator of the Supreme People’s Procuracy; Director of the Civil Case Prosecution Department at the Supreme People’s Procuracy; Chief Procurator of the High-Level People’s Procuracy in Ho Chi Minh City; and Deputy Chief Procurator of the Supreme People’s Procuracy.
He later held positions as Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee (2015-2020); Secretary of the 22nd Da Nang City Party Committee (2020-2025); and Standing Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate, before being assigned and introduced for election by the National Assembly as Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court and appointed Secretary of the Party Committee of the Supreme People’s Court.
