Australian Governor-General arrives in Hanoi for state visit to Vietnam
VOV.VN - Governor-General of Australia Sam Mostyn and her spouse arrived in Hanoi on the evening of September 9, commencing their four-day state visit to Vietnam at the invitation of State President Luong Cuong and his wife.

Those in welcoming the Australian Governor-General and her delegation at Noi Bai International Airport included Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong and Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Nguyen Hung Tam.
Ambassador Tam highlighted the visit as an important milestone, while affirming both nations’ determination to promote friendship and cooperation across multiple fields, particularly political ties, after more than a year and a half since the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Australia.
For Australia, the visit demonstrates the country’s consistent policy of attaching importance to and giving high priority to developing relations with Southeast Asia, including Vietnam.
For Vietnam, the Australian Governor-General’s visit will help implement the Party and State's foreign policy, which values relations with countries in the South Pacific region, especially Australia.
The State visit to Vietnam by Governor-General Sam Mostyn is expected to further consolidate and solidify strategic trust between the two countries, while contributing to peace, stability and development in the region.
