Argentina keen to soon open direct air route to Vietnam
VOV.VN - Vietnam and Argentina have discussed a draft proposal aimed at establishing a direct air route between the two nations, along with many other important contents such as cultural exchanges, education, and mutual support at multilateral forums.
The information was released by Argentina’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship Diana Elena Mondino at a press briefing held on March 20 in Hanoi.
“Vietnam is viewed as a very potential market. Argentina wishes to further enhance economic and agricultural cooperation with Vietnam, including considering soon establishing a direct air route between the two nations,” the Argentinean official said.
This marks the first visit to the nation by Argentinean Minister Mondino. According to Minister Mondino, Vietnam is a country that has witnessed very fast and dynamic economic development and offers plenty of investment opportunities for Argentinean businesses.
The Argentinean Minister said that her visit was ultimately a great success and she discussed and agreed on many important contents with Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, including the issue of market opening, the necessity of swiftly starting negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Southern Common Market (Mercosur), and continued efforts to step up ties between Argentina and ASEAN, as well as between Mercosur and ASEAN.
In line with this, the Vietnamese side has greatly supported and both countries desire to promote a strategic partnership in the field of industry and agriculture, Minister Mondino emphasized.
According to her, a number of Argentinian meat products are available in the Vietnamese market and are highly appreciated by consumers. This represents a highly favourable condition for both sides to further push economic and trade co-operation in the time ahead.
