Argentina hopes to foster economic, trade, investment collaboration with Vietnam
Local administrations in Argentina have attached importance to the role and potential for economic, trade, and investment collaboration with Vietnam, and wanted to further strengthening bilateral trade, particularly in agricultural products in the time ahead, Congressman Juan Fernando Brugge has affirmed at a recent meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Ngo Minh Nguyet.
The two sides highlighted the necessity to boost cultural and tourism exchanges to foster deeper mutual understanding between the people of the two countries.
Brugge suggested intensifying promotional efforts to attract Argentinian tourists to Vietnam, enabling them to experience the country's natural beauty and vice versa.
For her part, Nguyet expressed her hope that the two sides will expand cooperation in key areas such as telecommunications and artificial intelligence technology.
The diplomat also pointed out the significant potential for collaboration between Vietnam and various Argentine regions, notably the central localities such as Córdoba, Santa Fe, and Entre Ríos.
Argentina stands as one of Vietnam's leading partners in the Americas. Between 2007 and 2022, bilateral surged nearly 13-fold, from US$378 million to US$4.88 billion.
This growth has positioned Argentina as Vietnam's fifth largest trading partner in the Americas, while Vietnam has become Argentina's sixth largest trading partner in the world. Argentina is also a leading supplier of corn and animal feed for Vietnam.
