New tourism route linking Thailand inaugurated

(VOV) - The central province of Ha Tinh on February 26 launched a new travel route linking it and Thailand’s Sakon Nakhon province.

The route, which connects the East-West economic corridor and the Greater Mekong sub-region, is expected to contribute significantly to boosting tourism and bolstering socio-economic development in the region.

The demand for tourism in Thailand’s north-eastern provinces, namely Sakon Nakhon, Nakhonphannom, and Nongkhai, is enormous and largely attributable to the significant number of overseas Vietnamese residing in Thailand.

In addition, the high demand creates increased business opportunities and, along with its other attributes, contributes to the region’s attractiveness as a lucrative investment destination.

Lying on the trans-Vietnam routes and the central Vietnam Heritage Path, Ha Tinh is considered one of the most important gateways along the East-West corridor.

Rich in natural resources, the province is a popular tourist destination as it is lined with breathtakingly beautiful scenery, 137km long coastline and beaches , which draw large numbers of international and local visitors to the area.

The newly opened international route is expected to boost tourism cooperation between the provinces of Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand, creating a market for the residents from the three nations.
