Vietnam’s magnificent scenery in focus
(VOV) - The beautiful images of Vietnamese land and people have been caught by Chinese photographer Don Hong-Oai.
Don Hong-Oai was born in the Chinese city of Guangzhou, Guangdong province, in 1929. At the age of seven, he left China to settle in Vietnam.
After arriving in Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City), he trained in a photographer’s studio and then traveled across the country to take photographs.
He lived through the two struggles against French and US aggression in Vietnam and moved to California (US) in 1979. Don has returned to China and Vietnam to take new photographs on some occasions.
Don Hong-Oai had won many prizes from photographic competitions in Asia, including those organized by Kodak and Nikon.
His best works were exhibited in the US and some other countries. Don passed away in June 2004.
