Stunning eagle’s eye view of Mu Cang Chai

| Yen Bai people call Mu Cang Chai "Khau Pha sea of clouds" because to reach Mu Cang Chai, visitors must go through the Khau Pha Pass at 2100m high, one of the steepest and twistiest passes in Vietnam. |

Visitors to the festival will have a chance to admire the magnificent terraced rice fields – the most beautiful of its kind in Vietnam – with an eagle’s eye view from above. |

| The festival aims to honour the beauty of the local terraced fields, promote traditional cultural values, and contribute to popularising the cultural identity of Mu Cang Chai ethnic groups among domestic and foreign tourists. |

| It was first held in Mu Cang Chai district in 2013 with the participation of more than 30 paragliders. The number of visitors soared from about 1,000 in 2013 to over 14,000 in 2017. |
