Overview of Vietnam’s largest ceramic mural in Ha Long

VOV.VN - The “Quang Ninh — Vietnam Heritage and World Natural Heritage” ceramic mural has recently been inaugurated in Ha Long city in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

The huge ceramic work features the natural beauty of the local land as well as the wonders of Ha Long Bay, a world renowned heritage site.
The ceramic mural can be found at the Cai Dam intersection leading towards the Bai Chay tourist site.
The mural has a total area of 2.234 square meters. It is over 260 metres in length and 8.45 metres in height. It is made up of nearly 56,000 individual ceramic pieces.
The ceramic picture blends the wonders of the world perfectly with images featuring Vietnamese heritages. 
Visitors can take in images of some of thewonders of the world such as Egypt’s Great Pyramid of Giza, Niagara waterfalls, Phu Sy mountain in Japan, and the Merlion Statue in Singapore.
 
Other wonders of the world are also depicted in the mural such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Red Square in Russia, Australia’s Sydney Opera house, the Eiffel Tower in France, and Ney York’s Statue of Liberty.
The highlight of the mural are the images of Quang Ninhand Ha Long city which feature key local landmarks such as Bai Chay bridge, Sun World Ha Long Park and the thousands of islands in Ha Long bay.

A carpet of splendid green grass and flowers are located at the foot of the mural painting.
Visitors have been keen to take photos alongside the painting.
Labourers have been hard at work putting the finishing touches on the remaining items. Local authorities have submitted a dossier requesting the ceramic relief sculpture be recognised as the largest in Vietnam.
