Nguyen Hue Flower Street blossoming into life

VOV.VN - One day before the opening ceremony, all of the ornamental trees and dog statues have been finished and installed on Nguyen Hue Flower Street in Ho Chi Minh City for the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet) celebration.

After two weeks of works, the flower street has been completed. This is the 15th time Ho Chi Minh City has set up such a flower street.
The 720-metre Flower Street is built on the theme “Khat Vong Vuon Cao” (Aspiration for a Bright Future). The street has three sections: “Mua Xuan Thanh Pho” (Spring in Ho Chi Minh City), “Hoi Nhap va Phat Trien” (Integration and Development), and “Vuon Toi Tuong Lai” (Reaching to a Bright Future).
The entrance to the street is decorated with brightly coloured dog statues modelled on the Phu Quoc dog.

Dog statues appear to trot along the side of the street, they bear a great significance of family, love, and wealth. Hundreds of colourful flowers have been planted along the street.
A familiar image of wildlife in Vietnam’s countryside is recreated on the street.
As the opening ceremony nears, workers are in the final stages of decorating flower beds, completing the electrical system, and cleaning up the street.

Nguyen Hue Flower Street will be open from 7pm on February 13 (28th Lunar December) to 10 pm on February 19 (4th Lunar January).
