Mama Fanbox – first self-service coffee shop in Hanoi

VOV.VN - Mama Fanbox is a self-service cafe in Japanese style, where customers can select their own food and drinks and leave money in an unmanned till.

Located in Lieu Giai street, Ba Dinh precinct, Hanoi, Mama Fanbox is an automated cafe, where customers themselves select drinks, print out an invoice and drop money in a locked box.

The unique cafe attracts both young and old people.

A camera at the gate can identify customers as regular or new ones.

New customers have to ring the doorbell to enter the cafe.

Customers opt for their drinks and take them to the self-service counter to see the price. Online staff will provide them with free consultancy through a camera system.

Customers will pay based on the price list of items.

Customers can type their names and phone numbers through a computer and then put the printed invoice and money in a small bag.

... and leave money in a locked box. Hiep, the cafe’s owner says that his business depends mostly on customers’ honesty.

Young people find the new model interesting.

A visitor from HCM City says that customers in the city will welcome the new model if it is introduced in the city.

After enjoying drinks at the cafe, customers will wave to the camera three times so the door will open automatically.

Hiep says that family and friends worry that he might be ruined with the new model. In the initial stage, he tries to perfect the automatic system to provide better services.

Several autographs from local and international visitors

With low costs of space and staff, Mama Fanbox wants to focus on high quality products.
