Incredible basaltic clay villa in Da Lat
(VOV) - Da Lat City in the late 19th and early 20th century comes to life in a novel and creative way at the Sao Da Lat tourism site where the streets are lined with sculptures carved in red basaltic clay.

| The Sao Da Lat tourism site is located, 10km north of central Da Lat City and spans a total area of approximately 90 square metres. |

A villa at the tourism site was the creation of the owner of the resort Trinh Ba Dung. The home is made of basalt clay soil, a common material found in the Central Highlands. |

| It took many trials for Trinh Ba Dung and his colleagues to find the magic formula to produce the clay bricks that were durable enough for the project. |
 |
|
Most notably, the material retains its characteristic red colour of the land and has sufficient strength to withstand the effects of the rain, sun and other natural elements. |

The villa from the inside out, from foundation to roof is designed with red soil materials. The interior furnishings are also made from the soil. |
