The market was established in the 19th century. In April 1931, Cho Lon and Saigon were merged to create Saigon-Cho Lon by the French colonial government. Nowadays,“Cho Lon” is known as a wholesale market or a China Town in Saigon.
Cho Lon consists of district 5, district 6, district 10, and part of district 11.
