Fishermen with big catches of fish in traditional basket boats

VOV.VN - With traditional basket (coracle) boats, fishermen in Phuoc Hai town, Dat Do district in the southern province of Ba Ria Vung Tau can catch a large number of fish after three to four hours.

Using coracle boats to catch fish has been practiced in Phuoc Hai town, Dat Do district long time ago. Every morning, more than 300 coracle fishing boats go to the sea to catch shrimp and fish.
The fish caught in 3 to 4 hours can be sold at about  VND500,000 and sometimes even to dozens of millions of Vietnamese dongs.
Traders purchase the seafood at wharfs. 
The fishermen are happy with the fish of high economic value. 
This Lac Vang fish is sold at nearly VND1 million.
Coracles are pulled ashore after a fishing trip.

    Coracles are now fastened to engine.

Fishermen prepare fishing nets for the next day.
