Exploring the Hung Kings Memorial Site in HCM City

VOV.VN - Covering a large area of 400 hectares, the Hung Kings Memorial Site in HCM City features a blend of traditional architecture fused with a modern style.

Located about 30km away from the centre of the city, the Hung Kings Memorial Site was built to commemorate the Hung Kings. The site is located atop a hill that is part of the National Historical and Cultural Park in Long Binh district of Ho Chi Minh City
The memorial site was completed back in 2009. The site features four main parts including a square, a bamboo path, a temple, and a courtyard.
Between the square and the temple lies a bamboo path that is 10 metres wide and 360 metre long. A stone stele house was built along the path. The building commemorates the actions, contributions, and sacrifices of ancestors in the nation’s struggle.

One notable part of the site is the row of bamboo trees which is reminiscent of life in Vietnamese villages. The path has a total of 107 stairs.

The final stop in the site is the large temple, built in commemoration to the Hung Kings
There are three small courtyards within the memorial that are used for festivals and ritual ceremonies
The main altar of the temple is used to worship the Hung Kings and other ancestors.
33 rocks on display in the lobby of the temple features images proclaiming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Truong Sa archipelago (Spratly) and images and patterns about the Hung Kings dynasty.
