VOV.VN - Double-decker tour buses have been in service on Hanoi’s streets for over two weeks but many visitors say the ticket prices are expensive for Vietnamese people.
Hanoi’s first “Hop on – Hop off” buses have been in operation for more than two weeks but there have been few passengers. |
The buses pass through 25 streets and visit famous tourist attractions in the capital city. They depart every 30 minutes from 9am to 5pm daily. |
The buses can accommodate nearly 80 people and use Global Positioning System (GPS) and automatic programming. |
However, there were few passengers on these buses, mostly the elderly and foreign tourists, according to a VOV reporter on June 17. |
The current ticket is priced at VND300,000 for a four-hour tour, VND450,000 for 24 hours and VND650,000 for 48 hours. |
Visitors can hop on or hop off at any stop along the tour around the capital city. |
A female passenger asks the staff if she can buy group tickets. |
A local resident from Dong Da district says the prices for foreigners are normal but they are rather steep for Vietnamese people. |
Some passengers say other transport options are much cheaper and suggest that ticket prices for double-decker busses should be around VND150,000 for two hours. |
The double-decker buses are expected to help develop tourism in urban areas towards the target of turning tourism into the country's key economic sector. |
