VOV.VN - A race to push pack-bikes loaded with 150kg of food sacks from National Road 279 to the Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument on D1 Hill in Dien Bien province has drawn a large number of eager competitors, hundreds of local people, and visitors.

This year’s competition draws four teams of women and eight men’s teams.

According to the organiser, the competition is open for everyone to enter.

Many female competitors are more than up for the challenge of pushing a pack-bike laden with 150kg of food up the steep hill.

Each team is extremely determined to finish the race.

Several teams finish the race more than 2 minutes quicker than in last year’s competition.

The uphill race is around 700m long.

Some local residents taking part in the race find it tough going to reach the finish due to a lack of training.

Though all teams get there in the end and their determination pays off.
