VOV.VN - The central city of Da Nang is stepping up construction of a field hospital at the Tien Son Sports Centre in an effort to deal with the fresh COVID-19 outbreak which has recently hit the city.
The field hospital is expected to hold 700 beds specifically aimed at treating COVID-19 cases suffering from mild symptoms
Clean-up activities to facilitate the construction of the site’s treatment facility were complete on August 1, according to Ngo Truong Tho, director of the Tien Son Sports Centre
Since a decision issued by the municipal administration to transform the sports centre into a COVID-19 treatment facility, the centre has mobilised all employees to move their office equipment to other locations and speed up clean-up operations, making it easier for the hospital to take shape
Hundreds of workers have been performing their duties tirelessly in a responsible manner, despite time being so vital.
A representative of the construction team says their unit has been installing electricity and water, ventilation systems, alongside setting up hospital beds, with the project expected to be complete within four days.
Ngo Thi Kim Yen, director of the Da Nang Department of Health, says the Ministry of Health will inspect the facility and all completed preparations on August 4.
