Cherry blossom festival just hours away

VOV.VN - Fickle weather didn’t stop hundreds of local folks from coming out on the morning of March 18 to observe the hectic last minute preparations in Ha Long City for this year’s cherry blossom festival.

The dates for the blossom festival are the evening of March 18 to the 21st, with many of the crowd-drawing events toward the back end of that time frame.

The number of Japanese cherry trees this year is fivefold that of last year.

This year there about 30,000 apricot trees.

Mayomi Itsuwa from Japan and Vietnamese singer My Tam will perform at the opening ceremony.
